The Artist Behind the Ink

transforming imagination into color realism on living canvas

Since I first learned to hold a pencil, art has been my way of understanding the world. I began painting with oils at the age of seven, and later, during my Fine Arts studies, I discovered tattooing ― a way to transform my paintings into living art.

My work is rooted in color realism, yet always infused with imagination, symbolism and emotion. Each piece adapts organically to the body´s anatomy, creating a story that reflects both my artistic vision and the essence of the person who wears it.

Laura Egea has been internationally recognized for her work in color realism and artistic tattoo design.

Throughout her career, she has earned numerous awards at prestigious tattoo conventions across Spain, Europe, and the United States, standing out for her mastery of color, composition, and storytelling through skin.

Her work has been awarded in categories such as Best Color Tattoo, Best Realism, Best Large Piece, Best Sleeve, and Best of Day/Show, earning the respect of both fellow artists and judges.

Her ability to merge realism with fantasy and illustration has positioned her as a distinctive voice in contemporary tattoo art.

In addition to competing, Laura has served as a judge at several professional tattoo conventions and art-related events, where she evaluates technique, design, creativity, and execution with a trained artistic eye shaped by her Fine Arts background.

Today, she continues to be invited to conventions and exhibitions throughout Europe and the U.S., both as an award-winning artist and as a respected member of judging panels.
